Usually, when I wake up mourning while eating my breakfast, I love watching YouTube videos of other teachers teaching whole 26 and 2 classes. While watching, I always take a mental note to see how to improve each posture. It’s an excellent addition to my practice. When I don’t watch videos, I do a very light stretch on my mat and stay focused on stretching my shoulders. My shoulder is where there is a lot of tension. There is no pain or pressure on my shoulder blade and all shoulders. I made an appointment with a PT to ask some questions and provide exercises to help me. What exactly happens with my shoulder is that specific posture that I will be in that requires raising my shoulder. After 10 seconds of with my shoulder raised, I start to feel the burn and have to bring them down. As I said earlier, I’m just happy it’s no pain.
I do the same thing when doing vinyasa, especially in a downward dog. It used to be wrong before, but the more I take classes, the better it gets. I may have to continue attending class, strengthening my shoulders, and getting deep tissue massages. I woke at 5 am and did my early ritual by praising the orisha. I had some oatmeal with three teaspoons of liquid egg white and seltzer water. I did 100 pushups and prepared for the 9 am 26 and 2 classes. I also designed a protein shake. I’ve been using this brand called Naked. I like it because it only has three ingredients.
